Inter and Barca eye Pavard for the summer window

Inter Milan and Barca eye Benjamin Pavard, and will make a move in the summer transfer window. Both clubs are in the race to sign the French defender, as he is falling out of preference at Bayern Munich. Pavard’s contract will run till 2024, but he could leave in the summer, as he does not want to extend his contract with the German giants. Moreover, his relationship with the club manager, Julian Nagelsmann has been poor, so other clubs have a chance to make a move in the summer.

The Nerazzurri approached Bayern for the signing of Pavard in the winter transfer window. Hasan Salihamidzic, Bayern Munich’s director confirmed it, but they wanted to keep him at least till summer. However, Pavard has been struggling to get chances as Mazraoui is being used in the full-back role. Also, Cancelo has joined in January, which further reduces Pavard’s chances to get in the eleven. The French defender has played as a center-back in several games, but Nagelsmann does not prefer to start him.

Inter and Barca eye Pavard as the defender looks for a move

The Blaugrana are looking to sign a right-back, as they only have Kounde in that position. While Roberto has struggled recently to play as a full-back, Pavard will bring more defensive solidity. But the La Liga giants will have to compete with Inter if they want the French defender. The Nerazzurri are looking to find a replacement for Skriniar, and Pavard can relish in the right side of the back three.

Bayern Munich are willing to sell the French defender for €30 million and this could go down after further negotiations. The player wants to leave the club after being out of favor in most of the games. Pavard will get more game time at Inter if he decides to join in the summer.
