Inter close to sign Arnautovic from Bologna

Inter Milan are close to sign Arnautovic after missing out on their preferred targets in the summer transfer window. The Nerazzurri are looking to compromise and settle for the Austrian striker, as the other transfer targets were not feasible for them. The Bologna striker has the experience of playing in Serie A. He has the physique and technical abilities Inter are looking for in their backup forward. Meanwhile, the former Stoke City striker has already agreed the personal terms with Inter.

After Lukaku’s betrayal came as a shock to the team, and Inter were looking to find a replacement for him. They went after a few players but did not have enough funds to get the player. The Nerazzurri were close to completing the move for Gianluca Scamacca. But Atalanta came with a better offer for the West Ham striker. Scamacca had the attributes to be the perfect option, but Inter did not want to spend beyond their budget.

Inter close to sign Arnautovic and advance in talks with Bologna

The Nerazzurri find Arnautovic in their budget, as they will pay Bologna around €8 million and add-ons. Also, his wages are low, as he will receive €2.5 million per season in the two-year deal that Inter are proposing. Inter were willing to go as high as €23 million for Taremi from Porto, who has a better profile. But they do not want to overspend on Arnautovic, who is seen as a short-term signing.

Arnautovic played for Inter Milan in a loan spell, but due to his issues with Mourinho and injuries, he returned to Twente. But, the Austrian striker is mature now. He has experience playing in top leagues like Eredivisie, Bundesliga, Premier League, and now Serie A. Inter will hope his profile fits well in Inzaghi’s system, as the Nerazzurri want a striker to support Lautaro and Thuram.
