Inter eye Martial after missing out on Balogun

Inter Milan eye Anthony Martial as the Nerazzurri have dropped out of the race to sign Folarin Balogun. The American striker was on the radar of several clubs, and Inter do not want to enter into a bidding war. Monaco are keen to get the Arsenal striker and have offered €30 million. Meanwhile, Inter are not looking to compete for Balogun anymore, as they can not afford his high evaluation.

The Nerazzurri have seen Martial as a potential option to upgrade their attacking line before. But his form and relationship with United have restricted Inter to make a move. However, the Red Devils are now willing to accept an offer for Martial as they recently signed the Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Inter Milan wants to get a forward before the start of the next season, as they need a player to support both Marcus Thuram and Lautaro. However, their pursuit of previous targets have been unsuccessful as Morata, Balogun, and Scamacca did not arrive.

Martial looks like a good option to support Inter’s existing forwards. The French striker is good in link-up and has the pace to get behind defenses. However, his problem lies in his injury and form issues. So Inter are still looking at other players, who will be more reliable.

The Nerazzurri have been searching for a player that can fill in for Lukaku, who decided to leave the club. The Belgian striker went behind Inter’s back to negotiate a deal with their rivals Juve. Inter were trying to make him stay for another year and were in contact with Chelsea for another loan deal. But Lukaku wanted a permanent move, so he decided to have talks with other clubs without informing Inter. Zanetti and the company were not happy with this behavior from Lukaku.
