He might earn €3 million per year which Inter can afford and his services will be of use. Inter need a good backup center back as a part of the squad rotation.

But, Barcelona are also keeping an eye on Ginter, as their new coach Xavi wants to improve their defense. Barcelona are also keen on Inter’s other target, Andre Onana. However, the Nerazzurri have a verbal agreement with Onana and they will look to sign him next year as a free agent. But Inter will have to battle with the Spanish giants if they wish to secure these two deals. Inter are also monitoring Insigne’s situation as he will leave Napoli as a free agent next summer as well.

He won the World Cup with Germany in 2014 and played a key role in defense. He is capable of playing the ball with both feet and can keep up with forwards with his pace. Inter can use him as a wide center back. Also, some clubs from Europe will be trying to take Inter’s defenders summer so the Nerazzurri should be prepared.

Inter have struggled defensively this season and they would like to bring in a quality defender like Ginter. Also, there will be a tight schedule next year as Qatar World Cup will take place. So Inter will need some depth in their squad.
