Inter face injury woes before the Derby della Madonnina

This season looks like the toughest on record for the Nerazzurri in the recent past. While the performances on the field have been very impressive, the coronavirus is not done troubling football. There are just 1000 fans present in a stadium as big as the San Siro. This hurts, even more, when the fans are not able to witness Inter making such a strong challenge for the Scudetto. Most importantly, Inter face injury woes before the Derby della Madonnina. The Nerazzurri are unbeaten in the Derby since 2016 and will love to keep that record this season as they’re title favourites. But, this will probably be one of the toughest Derby you’ll witness in the times to come.

Inter haven’t even come to terms with more than half a dozen players getting the virus. And now, Alexis Sanchez and Ivan Perisic are under the injury scanner. These two are very important to Inter’s chances in the Derby as well as the long list of forthcoming fixtures. D’Ambrosio will fill up as a wide centre-back. Thus, Ivan Perisic is the only available wing-back at the moment. Thankfully, Ivan Perisic is likely to recover from a blow to his knee before the Derby della Madonnina.

Inter face injury woes

The more worrying injury scare is that of Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean is in red hot form and creates numerous chances when on the field. He can miss the next few games for the Nerazzurri as the scare of a muscle tear looms. But he can be back for the Derby as there’s no confirmation on his injury yet.

Inter face injury woes but its time to step up

Inter face injury woes at the worst possible time in the season. But this is the time for the Nerazzurri to step up and take on the challenge. Inter have an extremely strong bench which can give a good number of top teams in Europe a run for their money. On the other hand, Milan is unbeaten and haven’t even conceded this season. But the Nerazzurri can dominate their city rivals just with their prolific attack. Lukaku, Lautaro, Sanchez, Vidal and almost every player who can score a goal for Inter is in very good form. Inter are not out of contention yet, they’ll just have to fight harder.
