Inter handed a fitness boost for the Liverpool game as Bastoni is recovering quickly from his ankle injury. The Italian defender had a clash with Zaniolo from AS Roma in the quarter-finals of Coppa Italia. He had to leave the pitch in the first half and, De Vrij came on for him. Inter managed to win the match and reach the semis with a 2-0 win but, Bastoni’s injury looked serious.
According to many sources, Bastoni was set to be out for the Liverpool game because of his injury. Inter confirmed that the Italian defender had a sprain in his right ankle. However, the 22-year old has managed to make a speedy recovery and, he will be available for the round of 16 clash in the Champions League against Liverpool. He will, however, miss two games in Serie A because of his ban in the match against AC Milan. Dimarco or D’Ambrosio will take his place in Inter’s team when they face Napoli tomorrow at the Stadio Maradona.

Bastoni has been terrific for Inter this season as he has a goal and three assists to his name this season. The Italian defender does a lot more than defending as he makes run forward to create overloads on the left flank. The 22-year old has created many chances by crossing the ball from left after making an overlapping run forward. He is one of the best young defenders in the Serie A at the moment, and he looks to be on the path to becoming the next star defender for Italy.
Many top clubs from Europe are eyeing him but, Inzaghi will want to keep him. The 22-year old has more freedom under the Italian manager and has improved his game.
