Turin based Tuttosport reports that Inter price Christian Eriksen at €50M amid Tottenham interest. The North London club are reportedly eager to bring the Danish midfielder back to the club. Eriksen left Tottenham to pursue new challenges. Despite offers from the likes of Real Madrid, Eriksen came to Inter. Unfortunately for both parties, Eriksen has failed to impress so far. And Inter are not denying the opportunity to cash-in on him.
Reports suggest that Spurs have inquired with Inter about signing the 28-year-old. Eriksen won’t mind going back to his old club either. Eriksen never got the game-time he was promised. Furthermore, the Danish international is not the player Inter want him to be.
Tottenham’s vested interest in Eriksen can be a piece of good news for Antonio Conte. The Italian faced a lot of heat when the 28-year-old failed to impress at the San Siro. Inter signed him for €20M and can easily make a profit on him. Conte is also in desperate need to offload players, especially in the midfield. The Nerazzurri gave Juventus a run for their money in Conte’s first season in charge. Despite the fact that the squad took a good amount of time to adjust to his system and he rarely got the big money signings, this is a big positive. Inter will use the money from Eriksen’s sale to bring the players Conte wants. The Nerazzurri are very eager to make a strong bid for the Scudetto this season.

Christian Eriksen failed to impress at the San Siro but he’s a world-class player. His dip in form can be partly blamed to the circumstances he had to face in the initial days. Eriksen’s arrival at Inter coincided with the coronavirus pandemic. Soon, Lombardy became one of the worst-hit regions in the world. This forced Eriksen to stay at Inter’s training facility for a while as he couldn’t find a home. Although he was accompanied by a few staff members, this took a psychological toll on Eriksen.
Things have been better since then, but Eriksen never got the time to adjust. Inter price Christian Eriksen at €50M because somewhere in Conte’s head, he can rediscover himself. If this does happen, he will turn out to be a great signing for Inter.
