Inter’s backup striker list to involve big picks in January

Inter’s backup striker list to get longer if the management sends Pinamonti on loan. Despite having the services of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, Inter lack a backup to them. Alexis Sanchez has been a blessing for the Nerazzurri so far. The Chilean comes on in almost every game and creates a flurry of chances. But Sanchez cannot start a lot of games at once for Conte. Thus, in case Lukaku or Lautaro get injured, Inter will only have Pinamonti as the backup striker. While Ivan Perisic can most certainly play as a striker, Conte wants to keep him as a left-wing back option. Eriksen, Nainggolan and Venico are likely to fund a backup striker by leaving.

Inter’s backup striker list: Who can Inter have?

It’s no secret that Antonio Conte likes to work with players he knows. Hence, Giroud came into the picture. In fact, Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik is also a considerable option for Inter. Another player that Inter are closely monitoring is the Brazil-born Portuguese national, Marcos Paulo.

Subsequently, Giroud will be Inter’s first choice. The French national team player needs regular football to keep his place in the national side. While Frank Lampard and Chelsea can only give him a few starts, that won’t be the case for Conte. The former Italy manager rotates his players to give them appropriate rest. This means that if Giroud moves to Inter, the Nerazzurri will get what they want and the French striker will get what he wants. But, his astonishing form means that Chelsea will want to hold on to him.

Despite his age, Giroud is a fairly good forward. Antonio Conte has revived the careers of a number of Premier League flops. With Giroud being one of the best performers in the English League, he’ll be encouraged to work with Conte.
