Lautaro struggles with injury at the World Cup

Lautaro Martinez struggles with his injury in the Qatar World Cup. The Argentine striker has terrible pain in his right ankle, but he is taking injections to represent his country. The Inter Milan forward had to face lots of criticism after a poor performance against Australia after coming from the bench. The Argentine had to start on the bench because of his injury, but he came in the second half to seal the game. However, he missed some chances, and might not start against the Netherlands in the Quarter-finals.

After losing to Saudi Arabia, the Argentina national team bounced back, and have won all three games after that. Lautaro Martinez is having an underwhelming campaign so far and is struggling with his ankle injury. Argentina do not have a proper number 9 other than Lautaro, as Scaloni is missing Correa. So, he acts as a focal point when he is on the pitch. Although he has failed to impress in the World Cup, his presence helps other players to operate freely as he engages the backline of the opponents.

It is most likely the last World Cup for Lionel Messi so, the whole Argentina team is focused to win this time. However, they have tough games ahead and will need every player at their optimal fitness levels to contribute.

Camano, also commented on Lautaro’s competition with Manchester City forward, Julian Alvarez. He has been starting ahead of Lautaro in recent games, but it only adds to the competition.
