PSG ready to sign Lukaku if Mbappe leaves them

PSG are ready to sign Romelu Lukaku if Kylian Mbappe chooses to leave them. The French club are waiting for Kylian Mbappe to sign a new contract. The French forward is contemplating his future. If he decides to leave the club, PSG have two high profile targets in mind to replace him.

However, this deal seems unlikely to happen since Romelu Lukaku has been a vital player for Inter. The Belgian is in the second year of his Inter Milan tenure. He has scored 18 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions this season so far. He was also their highest goal scorer last season. The Nerazzurri have always struggled to get up the field without Lukaku. Their attack looks toothless in absence of the Belgian. An injured Lukaku doesn’t favour them in goals. Therefore, Inter are looking for a backup striker as well.

A report from CalcioMercato remarks that Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and Dortmund’s Erling Haaland are two targets on the French club’s radar. Erling Haaland was linked with PSG last year, but the club decided to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter this season on a permanent deal. Haaland has all the potential to become a world-class number 9. He has scored a plethora of goals in Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League. The Norwegian is regularly linked with the powerhouse clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The potential departure of Kylian Mbappe can create a domino effect in the summer transfer window. Many big clubs are chasing the French forward. However, PSG will be ready to sign Romelu Lukaku or Erling Haaland if Mbappe chooses to move for another club. But, the deal seems unlikely to happen anytime soon, since both the strikers are invaluable to their respective clubs.
