Inter Milan eye Sven Botman, a young 21-year-old centre-back from Lille. The Dutch defender has attracted many clubs with his solid performance in Ligue 1 this season. Liverpool has been scouting him for quite some time. Both AC Milan and Inter Milan are also keen to sign him. Now Diario Madridista are reporting that Real Madrid are also on the trail of the 21-year-old.
Conte has said that the club will not make any transfers this season. But Lille could allow Sven to leave for 25m euros next season. However, since so many clubs are interested, his price would skyrocket in the auction. That would not be good news for the Nerazzurri, given their delicate account.
Inter eye Sven Botman, other clubs are also keen
The Dutch defender is one of the main reasons for the success of Lille this season. The French club are currently second in Ligue 1 with the same points as PSG who are at the top. When Gabriel Magalhaes left Lille last season, they had a big hole at the back to fill. Botman has filled that hole completely and has formed a formidable pair with Jose Fonte. Botman is quite tall at 195cm. Therefore, he is excellent in the air and great in tackles. Also, he is pretty comfortable on the ball with third-most passes in Ligue 1 and a completion rate of 86%, which is a necessary trait in modern-day football. The Dutch defender also helped LOSC to qualify for the last 32 of the Europa League. In which they will play- as luck would have it- his former club Ajax in February.
Hence, with that many traits, it comes to no surprise that many big clubs are after him. The 21-year-old, with his prime yet to come, can fit into any team with ease. Will the Nerazzurri be able to compete with all the clubs to sign him?
