Further, the Blaugrana had offered a two-year deal to the Spanish player. However, they are still considering any upcoming offers for the full-back. It’s not just Inter that are dealing with a financial crisis due to the ongoing pandemic. Several massive clubs are also under financial constraint at the moment.
Sergi Roberto began his football career at the age of 6. He played for a local club called UE Barri Santes Creus. After a few years, he became a part of Barca’s youth academy. Ever since he has been a part of the club having several achievements. However, he got injured in 2018 and ever since has been slightly on a low for the club. Thus, Barca decided to put him on the transfer list a little ahead of summer at €25 million. But the 29-year old did not attract any bids.
Roberto to replace Hakimi as Inter might put in a bid for him
Inter have not yet put in a serious offer for the full-back. However, they are eyeing the 29-year old to replace Hakimi as he will soon be a part of PSG. Hakimi came to Inter in mid-year in 2020 on a fee of €40 million. However, the 22-year old was an important part of the Scudetto win for Inter. The Nerazzurri won their first Scudetto since 2010 in this season. Soon enough, due to financial troubles, Inter put Hakimi on the transfer list with a demand of €80 million.
Recently, Inter are also eyeing Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin. They are in talks with the club about a possible transfer. Barcelona wouldn’t want to wait till the next season and send Roberto out on a free transfer. And Inter might be their key to make some money. Thus, it is still unsure as to who will replace Hakimi for Inter as PSG bag him.
