Lazar Samardzic joins Inter from Udinese for a €16 million transfer fee. The Nerazzurri have also agreed to add Giovanni Fabbian as a part of the deal. Inzaghi wanted a replacement for Gagliardini for more cover in the midfield. Samardzic will soon undergo his medicals and sign a five year contract as per reports.
Inter have signed Samardzic on a loan deal initially, according to Di Marzio. Inter will pay around €4 million for the loan deal and the Serbian midfielder will become permanent from the next year.

Meanwhile, Inter have agreed to sell the 20-year-old Fabbian to the Friulani for €4 million. But in next summer, Inter will have to pay the €16 million transfer fee with €2-3 million in add-ons.

Inter also have a buyback clause on Giovanni Fabbian’s move to Udinese. The Nerazzurri do not want to lose control of his future permanently. The young Italian midfielder has immense potential and had a good season with Reggina in Serie B.

Samardzic will give Inzaghi different option in midfield as he is physical and likes to attack the box. Inter have players that like to hold the ball and dictate the play. Samardzic is more direct, and will be a good option from the bench when Inter want more energy on the pitch.

The Nerazzurri have signed another box-to-box type midfielder this season. Frattesi has been showcasing his talent in the pre-season, and helping Inter in attack. Samardzic will help Inter in rotation, as their midfield gets overworked and lose their spark towards the end of the season. Moreover, Inter aim to compete in all tournaments so they will need him. The Serbian midfielder will soon undergo his medicals and put pen to paper to make his move official.
