Can AS Roma’s third all-time leading scorer, Edin Dzeko replace Lukaku at Inter? The Bosnian has signed a 2-year contract with Inter Milan and is looking forward to the new challenge. He has a big task ahead of him as he has to fill the shoes of Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian was brilliant for Inter and managed to score the bulk of goals. He played a big role in Inter’s Scudetto triumph last year. Inter Milan’s system revolved around him and now Inzaghi will have to fit Edin Dzeko in that system. Dzeko scored a goal in the recent friendly match against Dynamo Kyiv. Inter will hope that he can replicate the success he had at AS Roma and help them to defend their title this season.
Edin Dzeko is a complete center-forward and he can be a great partner to Lautaro. The Bosnian also gives Inzaghi an option to play a different formation as he can play as a sole number 9. Dzeko is also a great playmaker and can give some assists to his teammates. He can score with both feet and has the ability to dribble past few players. The Bosnian is good in the air as well and has scored many headers. Also, he can hold the play just like Lukaku and buy some time for his teammates. But, he is not as quick as the Belgian so he can make runs like him. Also, Dzeko is not a top-tier finisher, although he is third in Roma’s all-time top scorers’ list.
Can Edin Dzeko replace Lukaku at Inter?
Inter Milan are also looking for another striker but they would hope that Dzeko will do the job of Lukaku and form a good partnership with Lautaro at front.
The Bosnian will love to play with creative and technical players like Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella who can create many chances for him.
