Inter want Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst for the upcoming season. The Nerazzurri are trying to assemble a squad that can help them to defend the title this season. Inter are looking at various options now and they are keeping tabs on them. They have already signed Edin Dzeko and want him to replicate the success he has had at AS Roma for years. But Inter are also looking for another center-forward and have some options in the market. Zapata from Atalanta, Martial from Man United, Luka Jovic from Real Madrid and now Weghorst from Wolfsburg. Inter are also looking to get Insigne from Napoli and they are willing to give Sanchez plus €15 million in that deal. But the Nerazzurri have not made any offer yet and will first analyze various players.
As reported by Di Marzio, Wolfsburg’s number 9 is on Inter Milan’s radar. The Dutch striker would not cost much and can play as a backup to Edin Dzeko. Weghorst has a quite similar playstyle as Dzeko and he has the ability to hold the ball. He has great upper body strength and can engage the opposition defenders perfectly. The Dutch number 9 is not quick but can produce a powerful shot. Also, he is a good header of the ball and can get at the end of crosses. He has had some success with Wolfsburg since he joined them from AZ Alkmaar in 2018.
Inter want Wolfsburg striker after Lukaku’s departure
Inzaghi is furious after Lukaku’s departure but he now looks to build a strong squad. Weghorst will be a great signing for Inter, considering he can come for €15-20 million. However, the Dutch striker has a transfer market value of €30 million, but Wolfsburg could settle for less.
Wout Weghorst has scored 65 goals so far for Wolfsburg in 122 matches.
