Olivier Giroud scores a brace in the second half to give the Rossoneri three points. AC Milan are now just one point behind Inter. However, Inter Milan still have a match in hand but, their loss has opened the Scudetto race. Inter could have put the game to bed in the first half, but they missed a lot of chances. Mike Maignan had a great game as he denied the Nerazzurri several times and kept the score to 1-0 in the first half.
Inter had a goal in the first ten minutes of the match, but it got denied by VAR. Inter took nine shots in the first half, but they managed to find the back of the net only once. They could have taken the lead in the 25th minute when Lautaro laid the ball to Barella. However, the Italian midfielder could not keep his shot on target.
An even bigger chance went begging and, it had Inzaghi down to his knees. Lautaro played a through ball to Dumfries, who took a touch and fired his shot straight at Maignan. Inter finally got their goal in the 37th minute with a corner as Perisic was free in the box and, Calhanoglu picked him. The Croatian finished with a volley to give Inter the lead.

Stefano Pioli made some changes in the second half and brought Messias in. The Rossoneri were now looking to attack with numbers. Pioli also brought Brahim Diaz in, who created all sorts of problems for Inter. Brozovic received a yellow card for fouling the Spaniard minutes after he came to the pitch. Inzaghi made some early substitutions as he wanted to seal this game.
AC Milan got their equalizer in the 75th minute when Tonali made a run and passed the ball to Diaz. He went for the shot but, it got deflected to Giroud who finished while sliding. Inter were not happy as Sanchez was fouled during the buildup of the goal. AC Milan took the lead after a few minutes as Calabria came inside and played the ball to Giroud who managed to turn and finish with De Vrij on his back. AC Milan managed to keep the scoreline as it is for the remaining time and, Theo Hernandez got a red card in the end but, his team managed to win the Derby Della Madonnina.
