Inter Milan target former AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie from Barcelona. The Nerazzurri are looking for a midfielder that can cover several positions to provide depth. Franck Kessie has the experience playing at the top in Serie A, so he could be a good acquisition. The former Nerazzurri manager, Antonio Conte is also keen to sign him. Kessie is not getting enough minutes under Xavi at Barcelona and is looking for a move.
Simone Inzaghi prefers the midfield of Calhanoglu, Brozovic, and Barella. The trio starts for almost every game, so Inter need a quality backup. Mkhitaryan offers some help but he can not operate in Brozovic’s position. Kessie will create competition in the team, so players will have to improve their game to get selected in the starting eleven. Kessie is currently 24 and has his prime years ahead of him. He was a key figure in the Rossoneri squad that won the Scudetto last year. However, at Barcelona, he has struggled to settle in Xavi’s system, as he prefers Busquets in the number 6 role.
Inter Milan target Franck Kessie to improve their midfield
After the departure of Vidal and Vecino, Inter lack a midfielder that adds steel to their midfield. Hence, Inter have struggled to defend in transition, and Brozovic’s injury further depleted the balance of the midfield. Kessie is capable of stopping the counters and intercepting attacks. But it would depend on the former AC Milan midfielder if he wants to come back to Serie A and join the rival team of his former club.
Conte is looking to have more midfield options, and Barcelona are willing to give him for £13 million. However, they are facing competition from Inter and Arsenal, as he has a small price tag. But Kessie will decide in the end if he wants to make move in the winter.
