Ivan Perisic on United list as Jadon Sancho alternative reports ESPN. The report further adds that as Manchester United struggle to crack a deal with Dortmund over Sancho they’ve listed Perisic among the alternatives. Among Gareth Bale and Douglas Costa, Perisic will be the cheapest alternative. The Croatian spent last season on loan at Bayern winning the Champions League with the club.
The 31-year-old winger is out of favour at Inter at the moment. The winger reportedly has a couple of weeks to impress Antonio Conte and stay at the club. Perisic was decently good with the treble-winning Bayern side. But, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll start a lot of games even if he stays. The primary reason is Conte’s 3-5-2 system which features inverted wing-backs and no wingers. While wingers can easily play the inverted wing-back position, Perisic is way down the pecking order.
Conte already has the services of Ashley Young, Alexsander Kolarov and Dalbert on the left-wing. Perisic will most likely get featured as an attacking midfielder when he gets some game time.
Ivan Perisic on United list, should Inter sell?
Antonio Conte is scrambling to offload unwanted players this summer. So, the fact that United are keen on Perisic should be enough to let the Croatian go. He is valued at €17.5M by Transfermarkt which is a good sum for Inter to invest elsewhere. The Nerazzurri want to raise funds to sign better players in a lot of positions.
Moreover, Perisic will neither get the game time nor a proper position to play at Inter. While at United he will get a good amount of games and a left-wing slot. Ivan Perisic on United list is a blessing in disguise for Inter. Now Conte and the Nerazzurri club must capitalise on the opportunity and let the Croatian go.
