Juventus 3-2 Inter, as Juve retains UCL hope

There was a lot of drama in the Derby d’Italia, as Juventus came out victorious 3-2 against the Serie A winners Inter. The match had three penalties one own goal two red cards and plenty of yellow ones. Also, this match was very important for the Old lady. As they are struggling to find a place in the top 4. The game had nothing for the Nerazzurri, except for the bragging rights which they lost.

It has been a disastrous season for Juventus. Right from the start, the decisions by the board have not been precise. No doubt Pirlo is a genius and has a great footballing mind. But, he had no experience of managing a club. Pirlo was the manager of U23 Juventus in the last season. But Juve had a poor performance in UCL. So, the board decided to sack Sari and Pirlo became the first team coach. Pirlo’s inexperience has been evident in some matches throughout the season. But, he can end his first season on a high note if he makes Juventus finish in the top 4.

Juventus started the game very aggressively. Their pressing was very good which did not give much space to Inter. Ronaldo scored the first penalty on a rebound. But then minutes later, De Ligt fouled Lautaro in the box and Lukaku equalised.

Now, Inter started the second half just like Juve in the first half. Bentancur was already on a yellow when he pushed Lukaku and got his second yellow card in the 55th minute. It was a bit harsh and refereeing was not up to the mark in this match. Now Juventus were down to 10 men and had to sit back and absorb the pressure from Inter. Inter finally got their equalizer from an own goal by Chiellini. But minutes later, Cuadrado got a penalty which was again a bit harsh on Perisic. Cuadrado took the penalty himself as Ronaldo was subbed off. He scored and has given Juve some hope for UCL next season.
